General Contractor :: Harkins

Changing an organizational culture is the one of the toughest tasks to take on. Culture is something that is built over years of interaction between participants and grows over time, people become comfortable, trust is developed, organizations thrive. It takes a significant event for culture to change, such as leadership transition, identity redevelopment, a major milestone — or even all three.

Upon the successful completion of the Harkins Headquarters (HQ) in Columbia Maryland, the Philadelphia (Philly) office lease was ending shortly thereafter. Using the same design principals integrated into the HQ, the Philly office is highly collaborative with a casual cafe and both open and closed meeting areas, all with high tech AV in order to collaborate with clients and other offices.

There are branded elements reflected in both offices such as the locally sourced wood ceiling, reception desk design and art work. The open work areas are similar to that of the HQ as are the finishes.

The result is a common brand between the two offices which creates a seamless culture that is connected aesthetically and technologically.
