Next One Up (NOU) provides highly individualized, wrap-around support that empowers young men in Baltimore City to become the City's next generation of leaders. Although these young men may face significant challenges in their homes, neighborhoods or schools. NOU staff provides the long-term mentoring and coaching that will make a lasting difference in their lives.
Programming builds academic and athletic skills and supports each young man as he builds a vision for his future. In all that we do, we promote life skills of leadership, determination and grit.
When it came time to relocate their operation, our team took the time to truly understand how their space would function and align with their business goals. We focused on how their students, employees, mentors, teachers, clients, and visitors needed to interact between public and private spaces in order for all to have a positive and successful experience.
NOU required different space types to support their mission, such as educational and training spaces, office and support space, a gym/weight room and a social area that not only supports the organization for fundraising purposes, but serves as an area for the students to develop social and leadership schools, outside school and sports.
Outcomes of this fantastic organization include:
- 100% of participants graduate high school on time
- 100% accepted into 2- or 4- year colleges
- 95% matriculate to college, others join the military or start a trade.
